No call back. No love from the theatre community. No commercial with French's Mustard either, but I thought I was good... good thing acting's just a hobby.

My week? Work, acting class, busy, blah blah blah. So now I can Blog...

Ian's in his new house. It's true you may not recover what you leave behind, but those moments and times were a path to this moment. You'd be amazed at what might be coming up... The house looks very cool, and the sewer pipe was definitely crushed. Good thing the dog was watching.

Rosemary's in Seattle with Arwyn visiting Brad. So I went for a long run this morning, and tonight is a St. Paddy's extraveganza at Ryan's. We've got a set together of eight songs, and songsheets for more requests if the crowd is in to it. Man I like singing Pogues, GBS and SOTW.

So now I just have to get brilliant and finish this report on high elevation forestry. At least I finished the other one on modeling silviculture information. Is there a word for projects based on obvious answers?

The world is filled with buck-passers.

Good to see Lila and Tayt this weekend, and the impending excitement of a baby. That makes three friends due this year. I'll go broke with all of the baby showers...

A Beautiful Mind is an excellent film, and Russell Crowe will probably get the Oscar.

Auditioning for a play tomorrow - hopefully I'll get a call back.

One little email from Tayt and good gracious, Lila's havin' a baby! A bit early to get really excited, I know, but what the hey, it's better than watching the news.

Mmmmm, turkey soup for lunch. Who knew I could make a good turkey soup? Looking forward to turkey enchiladas tonight. It's a good thing I like turkey. I'm getting soooo sleepy, though... Forest Gump Part 2, "You can make roast turkey, turkey soup, turkey enchiladas, turkey sandwiches, turkey with gravy on toast, turkey jello, turkey rice pudding, stir-fried turkey, turkey casserole, turkey cheesecake, hot turkey salad, spicy turky samosas, Japanese curried turkey, turkey sushi..."

Looks like another sunny day in Vancouver. Perfectly inspirational day for writing about high elevation forestry (I hope).

Half a month flies by and no bonsai blogging - sorry mates. Been working, going to acting class and we've been entertaining at home. On Saturday we purchased a 22lb turkey. Why? 'Cause it was cheap, that's why. Besides, neither Rosemary nor I had ever cooked a turkey, so the challenge seemed interesting. Thawing the sucker was a process, as we did the cold-water-in-the-sink method (it didn't fit in the fridge), however, our sink slowly drains, so we had to leave the tap barely on to keep it topped up. I checked it periodically in the night - emptythebladderfillthesinkorpreventsinkfromoverflowing. Yesterday we cooked it (okay, I went for a 30km run with Dave and Rosemary cooked it, bless her), and then we hoped friends would come over to help devour it. Only Dave showed, and though he made a brave fight of it and took some with him, we had a lot left over. The cleanup was a bear too (my job for not cooking). I'm making turkey soup now. We have plans for turkey sandwiches, turkey enchiladas, etc. I see why people only do a turkey twice a year.
