What's a war without speedy coverage?

Doing a Director's workshop this weekend as a volunteer actor. Kind of fun doing different parts in different scenes with the chance of a video product at the end. And I get lunch.

Quiet week at work as it was Spring break at the high schools. Next week promises to be busier.

Dad is somewhere on the road to Luang Prabang. Pete (I suspect you're protesting somewhere), I hope Dad gets a better seat on the LP bus!

Last weekend I managed to MC the Canadian Institute of Forestry ring ceremony and then play guitar and sing at Ryan's St. Paddy's party. The evening was overshadowed by the theft of my backpack from our back patio. I had accidently left it behind in the rush to get the car packed up and on the road to the ceremony and then to Ryan's. By the time I realized my stupidity (5.5 hours later at Ryan's when I wanted to change out of my suit) and raced back to the apartment, the pack was gone. Yes, I was careless, but the pack was next to our door, and behind a closed gate that leads to our patio, so it was still on our property. I don't think that's on par with forgeting the pack on a bus or somewhere in a shopping mall. Some jerk came through our little gate, onto our patio, and took something that wasn't theirs. Lost some clothes, my pager, some CD's, my harmonica (the one Dad gave me), and the work cell phone. I hope the dirty $#^*!@ who took the pack has something bad happen to them. Maybe the person who stole my bike will run into them. What a world.

The sting of the theft has lessened though, and at least I had the sense to be carrying my wallet and keys with me (phew). This is really the first time theft has hit me in a while. The first big theft I remember encountering was my backpack from (surprise!) the UBC bookstore. Rough neighbourhood to live in - I'm waiting to find Rosemary's car up on blocks! But all in all I have great friends and a damn fine life. But I still hope the dirty $#^*!@ who took the pack has something bad happen to them.

This, I believe, is some sort fo record. 37 days without a Blog. Did you miss me?

Okay, in the last 31 days the play went its run and we had good reviews! My mask was selected "Best in Show". I got sick. Really sick, but only mostly lost my voice on one night. Dad came through town on his way to Laos and pumped me full of antibiotics, and lo and behold ah ahm cuuahd.

Rosemary and I went cross country skiing in Kamloops, in time for a housewarming party and to watch "Rabbit Proof Fence".

I put money in my RSP. We built a new shelving unit out of an old one. We took pictures of our apartment and put them on the website. I recorded two quicky songs for giggles (www3.telus.net/LittleBonsai/steve.mp3 & www3.telus.net/LittleBonsai/steve2.mp3).

in the last 6 days I have been giving presentations around the Lower Mainland convincing youngin's to become foresters. I'm going to be a "session" actor at a director's workshop. I'm running again. And campus is under seige by protesting, malicious strikers. Is there a difference between the withdrawl of services and willful disruption of a business? I think so. And here we are on the brink of watching a war on television. Life's just fine, ain't it?
